First Armstrong Residence on the Market !

location: 117 Baker Avenue, Webster Groves, Missouri
date: 1926
architect: Harris Armstrong
condition: well maintained, somewhat modified

This wonderful home was Armstrong's first built project. Constructed with money loaned from Armstrong's father, Henry C. Armstrong, this compact home was created to house Harris and Louise Armstrong following their elopement.

To tour the house, please contact realtor Susan Schiff with ReMax. You can view the listing here.

You can see a number of my own photographs of the house here (on my Flickr photostream).

  1. A very interesting home and at a great price too! It will not last long on the market....

  2. We looked at this house when it was on the market 15-20 years ago. As I recall the floor plan was... odd. It looks a lot better empty than it did cluttered, that's for sure!

I don't know the present status of this house at 117 Baker Avenue from 1926.

My understanding is that the second Armstrong Residence (at #3 Sappington Spur) will be coming on the market sometime this spring.

You can read about it here.

  5. This looks better than new homes for sale I've seen.
